Refund and Cancellation Policy

The short version
Our core features are free, so there's nothing to refund or cancel there. For paid AI features, we handle refunds on a case by case basis. If something went wrong or you're not happy, email us at support@shipresume.com and we'll figure it out.
Free features
Everything in the core resume builder is free forever. You can:
- Create unlimited resumes
- Export unlimited PDFs
- Edit your resumes anytime
- Delete your account whenever you want
Since these features are free, there's nothing to refund or cancel. Just use them as much as you need.
AI features (paid)
We charge for AI features like resume import, resume review, and job description matching. These are pay as you go, not subscriptions. You only pay when you use them.
No subscriptions to cancel
We don't do subscriptions. You're not locked into any recurring payments. Use AI features when you need them, don't use them when you don't. There's nothing to cancel.
Refunds for AI features
We handle refund requests case by case. Here's when we'll typically give refunds:
- The AI feature didn't work or gave you an error
- You were charged twice by mistake
- The result was completely unusable or broken
- There was a technical problem on our end
Here's when we probably won't give refunds:
- You just didn't like the AI's suggestions (AI isn't perfect)
- You changed your mind after using the feature
- You used the feature successfully but want your money back anyway
If you're not sure, just ask. Email support@shipresume.com with your transaction details and explain what happened. We're reasonable people.
How to request a refund
Email support@shipresume.com with:
- Your account email
- What you paid for
- When you paid (approximate date is fine)
- Why you want a refund
We'll review your request and get back to you within 2-3 business days. If we approve the refund, it'll show up in your account within 5-10 business days depending on your payment method.
Refund timeframe
Request refunds within 7 days of the charge. After that, we probably won't be able to help.
If there was a technical issue on our end that we didn't fix, we might make exceptions to this timeframe.
Payment disputes and chargebacks
If you see a charge you don't recognize, email us first at support@shipresume.com before filing a chargeback with your bank. We can usually sort it out faster and easier.
If you file a chargeback without contacting us first, we reserve the right to:
- Suspend your account while we investigate the dispute
- Terminate your account if the chargeback is found to be fraudulent
- Pursue collection of any amounts owed plus chargeback fees
Filing a fraudulent chargeback may result in permanent account termination and may be reported to relevant authorities.
Account deletion
You can delete your account anytime from your account settings. This will:
- Delete all your resumes and data
- Remove your account information
- Stop any future charges (though we don't have subscriptions anyway)
Deleting your account doesn't automatically refund past AI feature purchases. If you want a refund, request it separately before deleting your account.
Changes to this policy
We can update this policy anytime. If we make changes, we'll update the date at the top. For big changes, we'll let you know via email.
Non-refundable items
The following are generally non-refundable:
- AI features that were successfully delivered and functioned as described
- Services already rendered or consumed
- Refund requests made more than 7 days after the charge
- Charges resulting from your failure to cancel or stop using paid features
Refund processing
Once a refund is approved:
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase
- Processing time is typically 5-10 business days, depending on your payment provider
- You will receive an email confirmation when the refund is processed
- We cannot expedite refund processing times set by payment providers or banks
Abuse of refund policy
We reserve the right to deny refund requests or terminate accounts that show patterns of abuse, including but not limited to:
- Repeatedly requesting refunds for successfully delivered services
- Using services and then requesting refunds without valid reason
- Filing fraudulent refund claims
- Attempting to exploit the refund policy
Governing law
This Refund and Cancellation Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from refund requests or this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
