File Naming

Name your PDF professionally:

Good names:

  • FirstName_LastName_Resume.pdf
  • FirstName_LastName_Resume_2024.pdf
  • FirstName_LastName_Marketing_Resume.pdf

Bad names:

  • Resume.pdf
  • My_Resume_Final_FINAL_v3.pdf
  • Resume_Updated_Again.pdf

Before You Export

Check these things:

  • All text is correct and spelled properly
  • Dates are accurate
  • Links work (test them)
  • Formatting looks good
  • No weird spacing or alignment issues
  • Contact information is current

After You Export

  • Test the PDF - Open it and make sure it looks right
  • Check on different devices - View on phone, tablet, and computer
  • Verify links - Click any links to make sure they work
  • Check file size - Most systems accept files under 5MB

Pro Tips

  • Export multiple versions - Create versions for different job types
  • Use consistent naming - Makes it easy to track versions
  • Export before applying - Don't wait until the last minute
  • Keep a backup - Save your PDF in multiple places
  • Update regularly - Export a fresh copy when you make changes

Troubleshooting

"PDF looks different than preview" - This is normal. PDFs sometimes render differently. Check the actual PDF file.

"Links don't work in PDF" - Make sure your links are properly formatted. Test them before exporting.

"File is too large" - Remove images or try a simpler design. Most resumes should be under 1MB.

"Formatting is broken" - Try exporting again. If it persists, contact support.
